Effective July 13, 2026
Plant101 is built to know plants, not people. This policy explains what the app does with data — which is very little.
Plant101 has no sign-up, no login, and no user accounts. The app contains no advertising, no third-party analytics, and no tracking SDKs. We do not collect, sell, or share personal data.
Plant identification runs entirely on your device using Apple's on-device machine-learning frameworks. The live camera stream never leaves your iPhone.
When you tap a plant's label to see details and your device is online, Plant101 may send that single captured photo frame to the PlantNet identification API to confirm the species. The photo is used only for identification, is not linked to your identity by Plant101, and is handled per PlantNet's own terms and privacy policy. If you are offline, this step is skipped and everything stays on-device.
Plants you save — including their photos and care schedule — are stored locally on your device. They are never uploaded anywhere. Deleting the app deletes this data.
Watering reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. They involve no server and are sent only with your permission, which you can revoke anytime in Settings.
plant101.app sets no cookies and runs no analytics.
Plant101 does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date.
